Taylor Swift's first album Taylor Swift has a simple look with little butterfly details along the side. This is her first country album and is much more simplistic and sweet in comparison to her other album covers. The cover looks like it was not made by a professional and it looks like something that almost anyone could make with a camera and photoshop however, I do think that it captures Taylor's style. This album is mostly her classic country-style love songs. The picture of Taylor shows us Taylor's sweet side. She looks like a sweet girl-next-door. She isn't wearing heavy makeup or an edgy outfit, her hair is natural and she looks like most young country singers. I think the photo accurately describes the artist and her innocent image. I think that the light butterfly design adds to that and shows her young and innocent side. The signature "Taylor swift" became a staple to her first three albums (her most popular country albums). There is a visible change in her image and style from those three albums onwards. I think that her image changed from the girl next door country singer into the pop singer she is today and we can visibly see that change in her album cover art.
The font used for 'Taylor Swift' is a simple cursive style with lots of loops and roundness. I think they chose this font because it looks like she could have written it. I think that the album cover and the Tim McGraw music video go well together because the song is a beautiful country love song about an everyday girl going through heartbreak and the album cover is a simple girl. The album looks like anyone could have made it and I think that the song Tim McGraw and the music video looks like something that a lot of young girls have gone through. I think that the label did a good job relating the two so that it feels personal and real.
